Vahakni Open 2024 A Milestone for Pickleball in Armenia In October 2024, Armenia made history by hosting its first official pickleball tournament — the Vahakni Open 2024, organized by the National Pickleball Association of Armenia (NPAA) at the newly opened Vahakni Pickleball Courts in Yerevan. The tournament brought together 33 participants and was played in a Round Robin format, allowing every player to compete across multiple matches. Beyond competition, the primary goal of the event was a major step forward for the sport in the country: to establish official DUPR ratings for all participants, creating the foundation for fair rankings and future competitive play. The Vahakni Open 2024 marked the official launch of organized pickleball in Armenia, setting the stage for player development, structured tournaments, and international participation. This inaugural event represents the beginning of a growing pickleball community and a strong future for the sport nationwide. 1 2 ►
